Live Earth - The Concert for a Climate in Crisis - 7.7.07
Live Earth will use the global reach of music to engage people on a mass scale to combat our climate crisis. Live Earth will bring together more than 150 of the world's top musicians for 24-hours of music from 7 concerts across all 7 continents. Live Earth will bring together an audience of more than 2 billion at the concerts and through television, radio, film, and the Internet. That audience, and the proceeds from the event, will create the foundation for a new, multi-year global effort to combat the climate crisis led by Vice President Al Gore. Kevin Wall, Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8, is producing Live Earth. All Live Earth venues will be designed and constructed by a groundbreaking team of sustainability engineers and advisors directed by John Picard. This greening team will address the environmental and energy management concerns of each concert site, as well as the operations of sponsors, partners, and other Live Earth affiliates.
Each venue will not only be designed to maintain a minimum environmental impact, but will showcase the latest state-of-the-art energy efficiency, on-site power generation, and sustainable facilities management practices.

Curious puzzle

Found this puzzle online and it really stumped me. This was a question posed by ITV on their late-night phone quiz show (in the UK).
If you can't see it properly, this is what i says:
ADD THE PENCE
Two Pounds, 25p, £1.47, 16p, Fifty pence
Now, WITHOUT GOOGLING FOR THE ANSWER, let's hear some of your solutions!

Harvard and NYC Photos
So I'll admit that I'm super lazy and also way too busy right now to post up individual photos and comments etc. So here are some of my photos from my recent trip to Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as photos from our 3-day side-trip to New York City!
One thing to note, our bus trip TO New York took a grand total of 7.5-8 hours because silly me forgot to check if the bus was an express (aka direct) or not. And lo-and-behold, we got the scenic route! Yes, all through Hartford and New Haven and anywhere else you could possibly go through before reaching NYC. All I can say is, thank GOODNESS we got the express bus on our way back (4hours flat thank you very much) cos otherwise we would have missed our flight home.

Harvard, Boston
Just a quick post to let everyone know I survived the 25+ hour trip up from Singapore to Boston! After an excruciating non-stop 18hr flight from HK to Chicago, and then missing our connection in Chicago because immigration took SO LONG... we finally arrived to a very chilly Boston. We got lost within the first 5 mins cos the Harvard students couldn't find their way from the airport to their campus (wrong highway + no map + underground highway which has no mobile reception meant we got lost for a LONG TIME), but we finally made it into Mathers' dining hall and met all the other delegations and our Harvard hosts and HCAP 2007 was underway! The first 2 days have been crazy but very fun and interesting! We met quite a few important people like the Dean and some brilliant professors and we just had a business case study on Nike today, where we all saw very differing viewpoints on the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility and Child Labour.
But the most exciting news of all, is that it started snowing today! Around midnight in fact! And the river is all frozen and pretty snowflakes are falling from the sky... Mmmm...
Unfortunately though, (apparently) the snow won't stop. So we are expecting a full-on blizzard tomorrow with at least about 8-10 inches of snow! For someone who comes from the equator... EEKS!!!!! I'm so layering up tomorrow!!!!
Alrighty... Thanks for all the birthday shout-outs here and on Facebook! I miss you kids tons and I hope to see you all again soon!
*big hugs from Harvard!!!*
